Frequently Asked Questions
Are your courses accredited?
No, my courses are industry-recognised, but not nationally accredited. They’re designed around what actually works in the real world, built on a foundation of over 16 years’ experience as a qualified working makeup artist, hair stylist, beauty therapist, and educator for some of Australia’s leading beauty institutions.
What kinds of courses do you offer?
You can choose from:
Online, self-paced courses - Learn anytime, anywhere, at your own pace.
Face-to-face sessions - Available on demand in small groups, or 1:1, for those who want personal feedback, skill refinement, or support after completing a course.
Who are your courses for?
From beginners learning personal makeup to aspiring pros building a career. Whether you’re exploring a creative outlet, building confidence, preparing to take bookings or needing to troubleshoot an aspect of your artistry business, I’ll guide you at your level.
Do I need a kit to start?
No full kit required to begin. I’ll show you what you actually need and how to build your tools and products smartly. Course materials include kit guides and suggestions.
What’s included in an online course?
You’ll get step-by-step video lessons and presentations, technique breakdowns, professional tips, downloadable resources (like product guides and face charts), and optional upgrade paths for live learning or mentorship. Some course contents will vary depending on the course focus.
Can I book face-to-face training without doing a course?
Yes! Face-to-face training and mentorship can be booked independently or as a follow-up to online learning. They’re perfect for getting personalised feedback or refining specific skills.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes! A Certificate of Completion is provided. While not formally accredited, it represents your commitment to upskilling with guidance from an industry-qualified educator. For artists who demonstrate outstanding effort, growth, or creativity, I also award a Certificate of Distinction. This is a limited recognition that celebrates a true commitment and development to all aspects of the craft. Certificates of Distinction are not guaranteed, but rather earned. I strongly believe in celebrating the exceptional and recognising those who go above and beyond.
Do you teach the business side of makeup too?
Absolutely. The Business of Makeup is my dedicated course for freelance and agency success, from pricing and kit setup to marketing, client care, brand development and sustainable growth.
Do I need an accredited qualification to work as a makeup artist or charge clients?
No, in most parts of Australia, (and many other countries), makeup artistry is an unregulated profession, meaning you don’t need a nationally accredited qualification to start offering services or running a freelance business.
Here’s where I’m different - my education doesn’t just cover looks and trends, I teach professional standards for sanitation, kit hygiene, skin preparation, and client safety, so you’re not just confident… you’re credible.
